Strike a pose : )
Okay, heres the pic of the fingerless mitts using my own handspun, homemade needles made from dowels, and the pattern used to make these is from Lostarts fingerless mitts pattern, which is awsome. I like how these came out. I spun the yarn for these on my handspindle. Of course they don’t match because they were made from one continuous ball of yarn that was spun randomly for a fun blending of colours. I call it random rainbow yarn
. I hope to be having random rainbow yarn on my ETSY sight some time soon with fibers and handspindles. These mitts are fun to make and they make a great set with a mini triangle bandana scarf so you can rock on with your bad self and make a statement. The other day I went to costco and was wearing socks with my sandles since it was cold. I got some interesting looks and a woman actually belted out the word, IDIOT, LOL, ah who would have thought such a fashion statement would cause such a stir. In Japan they do that all the time and I just learned it and loved it and kept it going. I know we ain’t in Japan any more. Hmmmmmm, wonder what would happen if I wore my sandles with some funky homemade socks. Please don’t call Stacey and Clinton on me, Ack. That show is so FUN to watch

LOL I love that they don’t match. I used to get heck all the time when I worked at the nursing home because my socks never matched. I’d wear one purple and one blue, or a white and a green. I’d come up with all kind of things to tell people… ‘I’m color blind’(not really
)… ‘I have better things to do than sort socks’… ‘they match, they’re the same *kind* of sock! The color is just off’… and my favorite ‘I used too much bleach, but that other sock didn’t make it into the load!’
I thought socks with sandals *was* a fashionable thing! Geeeze! I must be out of touch.

Thought of you when I saw this in my e-mail today! LOL
Well I can tell you from experience that if you use worst weight yarn and a size 9 or 10 needle you’re gonna get a BSJ for a kiddo about 2-4 years old, sport weight yarn and a size 7 or 8 needle gets about a birth to 6 month old size. I’ll have to pick up the Spin-off and have a looksie at everyones hand spun jackets! I was supposed to have my subscription renewed by now, but just haven’t had the money to get it yet. Been spending my money on yarn instead.
